Sylvie has a new side to her personality these days. We are desperately hoping it is a phase. For the last week and a half, she's been very clingy (with me) and extremely emotional. She's also been extremely defiant and had more tantrums than we have ever experienced. The power to distract her has gone by the way side. It's like she has a longer attention span and hangs on to how mad she really is! Please tell us this is a phase and it won't last forever. What do we need to do to deal with these tantrums? We're trying to sort it out. In the meantime, here's the new face of Sylvie!

As to the tantrums. sigh. Who knows. Almost-2-year- olds are mysterious creatures.
I love that you busted out the camera and got in her face to take pictures in the middle of it! I'd have done the same thing!
Weird that you posted this...I'm reading a book called The Explosive Child by Ross Greene, not that Sylvie is explosive lol, but it's a decent book that really gives you some ideas on how to handle tantrums. I'm sure its a phase April..I'll be thinking about ya!
We're experiencing something similar with Clio.. much more crying and pouting than we're used to, deep sensitivity, and an attempt to manipulate through tantrums. Terrible twos???
